The process of quitting smoking through clinical Hypnotherapy is a very personal one. I take enough time to get to know my client, their smoking habits, and why they want to quit. I then create a tailored hypnotherapy session specifically for them.
The hypnotherapy session usually lasts around an hour in a comfortable and relaxing environment. I begin by discussing the client’s smoking habit and why they want to quit. I then help them to relax and enter into a state of trance.
In this state, the client can access their subconscious mind, where all of their deepest desires and motivations are stored. I help them to focus on their desired outcome – quitting smoking – and implant this desire into their subconscious mind.
I also teach the client self-hypnosis techniques that they can use at home in order to reinforce the changes that we make in the session. Following the session, clients typically report feeling more motivated to quit smoking and find that it is easier than before to resist the temptation to smoke tobacco cigarettes.
